Discover the Network Marketing tip which is so powerful that the vision of a single man could overthrow an empire.
Power versus Force
This Network Marketing Tip draws on the teaching in the ancient Chinese book ‘The Art of War’, written in the 6th Century BC by Sun Tzu. He
states that "Mastery of others is force, mastery of oneself is power."
This ancient text has become very popular since much of what it talks about is applicable to business and to life today. Interestingly
though, if you read the book it's not about how to fight a war at all, but more about how to win a war. And if you can avoid fighting then
that’s the best solution.
When using force, what tends to happen over time is that it becomes weaker and less effective. Additionally, you will find it draining.
Conversely, power tends to generate its own energy and become stronger with time.
So let's examine network marketing in the light of these statements.
First, I invite you to think about advertising. If you had a very successful advert which was finding customers for your business, as
you roll it out to your team and it’s placed in more of the media, what tends to happen is that the advert becomes less effective.
You need to run more adverts to achieve the same result. In other words – the more you apply it, the less effective it becomes. And
clearly, since advertising also costs money, it’s draining.
As a Network Marketing consultant, a question I'm often asked by my clients is how they can get more
of their team working. I'm sure you’ve immediately spotted that they’re asking how they can apply more force to their team (which
may be disguised by using words like ‘motivate’) to get them to produce more than they do?
Even if there are techniques used to motivate a team, if you stop applying them - the team stops producing. I'm sure many readers of
this article have been to one of those highly motivating rallies where everybody seems to be bouncing off the walls with excitement, yet within
days of the event - productivity has not only quite often returned to normal (and this is nearer the norm) it has actually fallen below what it
was before the rally. In other words – there’s a slump.
Now let's look at power in building a team. I'm sure you can think of many people in life you’re naturally drawn
towards because of who they are. Generally they’re people of high integrity. What’s interesting is that, since these people are more
rooted in values and principles, they tend to become more attractive.
So what about using power to help your team produce more? Let’s say you made the active decision to fully support each person you brought into
your team, to help them achieve the business they want. I'm not saying you should be using this as a recruiting line, as I've heard it used
many times and I know it can sound very hollow. I'm talking about actually making the decision, internally, to help the individual recruits
we bring in. And instead of using words, you demonstrate this with action.
As you help your new recruit to find the right ways for them to build their business, helping them build their confidence and belief in
themselves, in you, in the company and in the industry, then positive results are almost
inevitable. They will produce more and consistently do more into the future.
The more you follow this principle, the more attractive you’ll become to new prospects. Instead of talking about how much you're earning
you’re now talking about how much you’ve helped these individuals generate wealth for themselves and their families.
This Network Marketing tip has introduced the concept of force and power. Force is draining and increasingly ineffective, whereas power
feeds you and, over time, becomes more effective.
I'm inviting you to examine what you're doing and suggesting you turn more of your activity towards power.
